Do More

Our billions of dollars in military aid to Israel have helped fund Israel’s disproportionate attacks on Gaza earlier this year.  Our aid package can also be seen as an endorsement of Israel’s settlement enterprise and its ongoing blockade of Gaza, despite President Obama’s very clear positions otherwise.  But we can hold our elected officials accountable to their stated policies in support of peace and justice for Palestinians and Israelis.

Here are some actions you can take:

If you are in the US, call your House Representative and Senators today.

If you have already sent your email, ask your friends to do the same.

If you are in the US, sign up to speak with your Congressperson about US aid to Israel. Register here.

If you are abroad, we need you help as well. We want you to find out whether your own government was involved in supplying or financing the attack against civilians in Gaza. If that is the case we encourage you to demand transparency and accountability from your own government. And as you win—let us know. We will gain inspiration by your victories. For example, we have learned recently that British activists have recently succeeded in getting their government to review arms sales to Israel in light of the atrocities committed in Gaza earlier this year!

Here are more things you can do:

Conduct a citizens’ hearing on the use of US weapons to harm civilians in Gaza.
We will have on this site soon links to the tapes from a hearing of this kind organized by Interfaith Witness for Middle East Peace in San Francisco last April. Click here to see how you can replicate this in your own community.

Thanks!
